post的一些常見用法：
作名詞：
1. 職位
He has no qualifications for the post.
他沒有資格擔任該職位。
2. 郵件
Your duties include checking and dispatching the posts.
你的職責是檢查和發(fā)送郵件。
3. 標竿
He struggled to run towards the winning post.
他拼命地向獲勝標沖去。
作動詞：
1. 郵遞
I would be quite grateful if you would post this letter.
要是你肯寄這封信，我將十分感激。
2. 張貼
Advertisements have been posted up everywhere announcing the new show.
到處貼滿了廣告宣傳這一新節(jié)目。
3. 派遣
After several years in London, he was posted to the embassy in Moscow.
他在倫敦任職幾年后被派往駐莫斯科大使館工作。
4. 急行
He was here on business, so he had to post instead of traveling around leisurely.
他來這兒是出差，所以他不得不匆匆趕路，哪有時間四處閑逛。
作副詞：
1. 快速地
She went post to the bank and cashed the cheque.
她急忙趕到銀行，把支票兌換成現金。
· 詞義辨析: mail V.S. post
· post 多用于英式英語，mail 主要用于美式英語
例如，英國人一般用post表示“寄信”; 美國人習慣用mail表示“寄信”
I shall post the letter to him tomorrow. (英國英語)
I shall mail the letter to him tomorrow. (美國英語)
· 作動詞時，post和mail都可加雙賓語
e.g. We will post/mail you the booklet early next week.
· post 常可用作定語構成合成詞，mail無此用法。
e.g. It came in the mail. 那東西是郵寄來的。
The post office is quite near. 郵局很近。
· mail可統(tǒng)稱“信件”，但post卻不可以
英國人偶爾也用mail，常包含報紙雜志等。英美人都用mail去統(tǒng)指“一包一包的郵件”。

注意：句中的mail不可改成post。
