昂立外語【新概念培訓(xùn)】分享fancy這個詞，這個詞出現(xiàn)在我們新概念二Lesson 68中，讀到這個詞時，學(xué)生普遍不太理解fancy這個詞的用法。所以我在此總結(jié)一下，以便大家加深理解。
fancy有三種詞性，下面先來看一下它的多種意義。
v. 認(rèn)為；喜歡；想象
fancy作動詞可能對于同學(xué)們來說比較陌生，其實(shí)在口語中可以替代like want等
常用搭配：
fancy for sth. 喜歡/想要某物
fancy oneself as 自以為...
新三課文里出現(xiàn)過：
Lesson 23 One man’s meat is another man’s poison
I did not fancy the idea and I reluctantly followed Robert out of the room.
我并不喜歡這個主意，所以我勉強(qiáng)跟著羅伯特走進(jìn)了起居室。
還有一種常見用法是做感嘆語氣的動詞“沒想到...” 用于感嘆句中，表示驚訝，“真想不到”的感嘆之意。在我們新二Lesson 68中便是這個用法。
Lesson 68 Persistent
'Hello, Nigel,' I said. 'Fancy meeting you here!'
“你好，奈杰爾，想不到在這兒見到你。”我說。
在這種用法里fancy后直接跟動名詞，或者用”Fancy that!”。
Fancy meeting you here! 和以下句子都表示“意外碰到某人”
(1) Imagine meeting you here! （想不到在這里碰到你！）
(2) What a surprise to meet you here! （在這里碰到你，真想不到！）
(3) Never thought I’d see you here! （絕對想不到會在這里碰到你！）
adj. 別致的；闊氣的；異想天開的
fancy作形容詞通常有“花哨的”“昂貴的”意思，一般指物品、衣服等等
新三課文里便出現(xiàn)過：
Lesson 13 It’s only me
She was too excited to do any housework that morning, for in the evening she would be going to a fancy dress party with her husband.
這里的fancy dress party 是指“化妝舞會”
n. 喜愛；想象
e.g. The teacher's story titillated the fancy of the pupils.
老師的故事激發(fā)了學(xué)生們的想像力。
fancy作名詞常用搭配：
take a fancy to 喜歡，愛上
have a fancy for 熱衷于，想要
