昂立外語【新概念培訓】分享hang這個小詞。hang是中考考綱單詞，主要考察其動詞用法。
作為動詞，這個次有兩個含義，兩套動詞變化
1. 懸掛；(使)低垂 hang-hung-hung
在Webster字典中的解釋為：to attach or place something so that it is held up without support from below
可以為vt. 及物動詞：側重懸掛的動作：
He hung the painting on the wall.
他把畫掛在墻上。
We hung paper lanterns from the trees.
我們把紙燈籠掛在樹上。
可以為vi. 不及物動詞 側重懸掛的狀態：
A photograph of her family hangs on the wall.
她的全家福懸掛在墻上。
Your coat is hanging in the closet.
你的衣服掛在衣櫥里。
The curtains hang all the way (down) to the floor.
窗簾懸掛在窗子上，一直落到地上。
The lamp is hanging from the ceiling.
燈懸掛在天花板上。

What are you doing ?' she asked.' I'm hanging this picture on the wall,' He hung the picture upside and down!
我正在把畫掛到墻上去，他把畫掛反了。
在新概念第二冊L71中：
A painter who had been working on the tower hung a pot of paint on one of the hands and slowed it down!
一個在塔樓上工作的油漆工將一桶油漆掛在一根指針上，把鐘弄慢了！
在新概念第二冊L96中：
Specially-made lanterns are hung outside each house to help the dead to find their way.
特質的燈籠被掛在每家每戶的外面來幫助亡靈看清道路。
In towns that are near the sea, the tiny lanterns which had been hung in the streets the night before, are placed into the water when the festival is over.
在海邊的城鎮里，那些掛在前一夜掛在大街上的小燈籠在節后被放在水里。
另外，掛電話，我們可以用 hang up the phone.因為最早的電話是壁掛式、托架式的，要把聽筒掛在固定的位置才能切斷信號，這也秉承了hang”懸掛”之意。
在新概念第二冊L54中：sticky fingers
At last I hung up the receiver. What a mess!
最終我掛上了話筒，真是糟糕透了！（這里receiver電話聽筒）
電話用語: 接起電話 pick up 掛斷電話 hang up 暫時別掛斷 hold on
2. 絞刑，吊死 v. hang-hanged-hanged
在Webster字典中的解釋為：to kill (someone) by using a rope that goes around the neck and holds the person's body in the air without any support from below
多用于vt.及物動詞：
They will hang him in the county jailhouse.
我們將在鎮監獄對他處以絞刑。
He was hanged for his crimes.
他因犯罪被處以絞刑。（被吊死）
She hanged himself.
她上吊了。

她的耳朵上吊著巨大的耳環。
suspend 懸掛，側重除了懸掛點外，可自由移動；或沒有支點的“懸浮”，也可以表示“暫停”

His driving license was suspended.
他的駕照被吊銷了。
