The boys felt tired so they put out the fire and crept into their tent.
孩子們感到困倦了，于是他們撲滅了篝火，鉆進了帳篷。
在這里creep的意思是爬行，to move slowly with the body close to the ground，課文中，男孩子們經過了一系列的活動，put up their tent, cooked a meal, told stories and sang songs之后感到很疲憊，用creep這個動詞形象生動地體現出了這一點，他們幾乎是爬著進帳篷的。

歌詞向聽眾娓娓道來了女生對于美好戀情的無限回憶，以及對所愛之人的深切懺悔。把歌詞fear crept into my mind中的crept說成是爬行顯然并不很合適，在翻譯的時候我們可以用擬人化的手法來說：恐懼悄然爬上我心頭。Webster上有一條釋義適用于在這里的creep所表示的意思，to enter or advance gradually so as to be almost unnoticed，在Ruby看來這可以理解為“逐漸蔓延，悄然滋生”。比如，當一個人說話的語氣中漸有怒意，我們就可以說，A note of irritation crept into his voice。
