昂立外語【新概念培訓】分享important是“重要的”意思，但每次翻譯句子或者是寫作文，表達“重要的”這個意思時，總是只想到這么一個詞，未免有些單調了。其實我們新概念英語中學到好幾個表示“重要的”單詞，大家可以活學活用，增加自己作文里的詞匯量，也能提升作文分數哦~
1. important
Lesson 12 Goodbye and good luck
He will take part in an important race across the Atlantic.
我們真為他感到自豪，他將參加一次重大的橫渡大西洋的比賽。
important較普通，強調某事值得重視，最為常用。
2. big
Lesson 3 Please send me a card
On the last day I made a big decision.
到了最后一天，我作出了一項重大決定。
big這個詞其實也有“重要的”意思，但這個詞因為太簡單而經常被忽視。可以用在一些詞組里，如 big problem ; make a big decision等
3. serious
Lesson 43 Over the South Pole
Though, at first, Byrd and his men were able to take a great many photographs of th
e mountains that lay below, they soon ran into serious trouble.
雖然開始時伯德和他的助手們拍下了飛機下面連綿群山的大量照片，但他們很快就陷入了困
境。
Lesson 62 After the fire
Winter was coming on and the hills threatened the surrounding villages with destruc
tion, for heavy rain would not only wash away the soil but would cause serious flood
s as well.
冬季即將來臨，這些山丘對周圍的村莊具有毀滅性的威脅，因為大雨不僅會沖走土壤，而且還
會引起嚴重的水災。
從上兩篇課文可看出，serious表示“嚴重的”“嚴肅的”“危急的”，一般是指問題、災
等的嚴重性，不表示一般性的重要。
4.significant
e.g. But there are significant differences between the two.
但是，這兩者之間存在顯著的差異。
significant表示“重大的”、“顯著的”，一般表示該事物非常突出且有優越性。
5.vital
e.g. To young people , job opportunities are very vital
工作機會對于年輕人最為重要。
vital表示“至關重要的”、“生死攸關的”，所以它的程度最高。
總結：vital的重要程度最高，significant則表示重要程度有一定的優越性，而important最
常用也最普通。big可以用在詞組中，比較簡單。而serious則表示“嚴重的”，和其他詞有
一定意思上的區別。
