昂立外語【新概念培訓】各位分享bank，coast，shore的辨析：
bank 通常指“河岸”或“湖岸”等，有較大的坡度，含有“堤”的意思。
一般不用來指“海岸”。
e.g. The town stands on the left bank of the river. 城鎮位于河的左岸。
coast 指“海岸”、“海岸線”等，屬地理用詞，它主要指遠處看到的海洋與陸地的分界線，或把這一分界線當作一個整體來看待。
經常看地理類紀錄片的同學應該對它并不陌生，鏡頭拉得遠遠的，沿著海岸線快速移動，再配上優美濃厚的英音：
‘There are many islands off the England coast…’
英國海岸有很多島嶼……
通常只能指“海岸”，不指湖岸或河岸。
e.g. He is going to live by the coast for the sake of his health.
他為了自己的健康，打算到海濱地區去居住。
shore 指水與陸地交界的“岸”，是一個較為籠統的說法，既可以包括 beach，也可以指突兀或陡峭的岸邊，它往往有較強烈的與“水”相對的意味。
可以指“海岸”、“湖岸”、“河岸”等。
e.g. Let’s go for a walk along the shore. 咱們沿岸邊去散步吧。
