那么說到short， 最簡單的用法就是做形容詞，修飾具體的人和物，表示個頭矮或是長度短;short也可修飾抽象的事物。
雜志《USA Today》2011期有一篇報道，標題叫”How to balance saving for short- and long-term goals ”。這篇報道主要講述的是如何去平衡短期和長期投資之間的比率。short此時修飾抽象名詞goal.
