此處Rolls-Royce為汽車品牌，譯為勞斯萊斯。
其實roll這個詞還有其它的含義。
下面這句話選自于羅伯特·詹姆斯·沃勒的《廊橋遺夢》
He stepped in behind the wheel, lit a Camel, and went through his mental checklist:
two hundred rolls of assorted film, mostly slow-speed Kodachrome; tripods; cooler;
three cameras and five lenses; jeans and khaki slacks; shirts; wearing photo vest.
在《廊橋遺夢》中，作者向讀者展示了羅伯特·金凱與弗朗西絲卡從相逢、相戀到相別的全過程。它仿佛是一面鏡子，映照出現代都市人的生命情懷。羅伯特·金凱做出了自己的選擇，他選擇了走向自然。他自稱是“最后的牛仔”，是一個像豹子一樣敏捷、自然、本色、強有力的男人，正因如此，他打動了女主人公弗朗西絲卡，也打動了我們。他所選擇的方式，亦是我們這些忙碌而無奈的現代人所向往的。
這句話為男主人公在回想自己的行李清單，two hundred rolls of assorted film意為“兩百卷的電影膠卷”，也體現了男主人公的文青氣質。roll此處作名詞，解釋為“……卷”
在牛津高階詞典中的解釋：
cylinder made by turning flexible material over and over on itself without folding it 卷狀物: Wallpaper is bought in rolls. 壁紙是成卷買的. * a roll of carpet, film, cloth 一卷地毯﹑ 膠 卷﹑布.
