昂立外語【新概念培訓(xùn)】分享illusion及其相近單詞。illusion這個(gè)詞是新三Lesson 41 Illusions of Pastoral Peace 中出現(xiàn)的詞。
pastoral 是“田園般的”，而peace 是“寧靜”。乍一看文章標(biāo)題，我們可能會(huì)誤以為“寧靜的田園生活的遐想”講的是作者對于田園生活是充滿向往與熱愛之情的，然而通讀全文我們卻發(fā)現(xiàn)作者羅列出田園生活的種種不足之處，甚至舉出具體的例子來諷刺那些嘴上說喜歡田園生活的人，相反，他卻為城市生活列出種種優(yōu)點(diǎn)，可見作者是喜歡城市生活而厭惡鄉(xiāng)村生活的。由此大家可以得知illusion并非是個(gè)“好詞”。
來看一下字典中illusion的釋義“a false idea or belief, especially about sb. or about a situation”一個(gè)“false”便給illusion打下一個(gè)烙印，illusion因此變成了“壞詞”（貶義詞）
給大家一個(gè)例句來感受一下：
She’s under the illusion that she’ll get the job.
=She believes wrongly that she’ll get the job.
她存有幻想，認(rèn)為她會(huì)得到那份工作。
例句中under the illusion 也可以說成cherish the illusion, 意為“懷有... 幻想”
Lesson 46 Do It Yourself 中出現(xiàn)一個(gè)單詞 “delusion”(a false belief or opinion about yourself or your situation)
錯(cuò)覺，妄想。看釋義delusion 與illusion兩者很相似，然而delusion這個(gè)詞更嚴(yán)重哦，它多用來形容“精神病人產(chǎn)生的幻覺”如: the delusions of the mentally ill (精神病患者的妄想)
Lesson 49 The Ideal Servant 中又出現(xiàn)一個(gè)詞“disillusion”是illusion 加上否定前綴dis-，它在字典中釋義為“to destroy sb’s belief in or good opinion of sb./sth.”使醒悟、使不再抱有幻想、使幻想破滅。disillusion這個(gè)詞可是很“無情”的哦。
如：I hate to be the one that will disillusion him.
我不想成為讓他幻想破滅的那個(gè)人。
