然而fancy這個詞在Jane Austin的一部非常有名的小說<Pride and Prejudice>里面也出現過哦！我們看看原句：He walked here,and he walked there,fancying himself so very great！”“他一會兒走到這里，一會兒走到那里,覺得自己有多了不起。”
這里描寫的是小說中的男主人公非常的驕傲，當大家都在跟別人友好的交談跳舞的時候他卻一個人在那邊驕傲的一會兒走到這里，一會兒走到那里,覺得自己有多了不起。這里的fancy怎么翻譯的呢？
If you say that someone fancy themselves as a particular kind of person, you mean that they think,
often wrongly, that they have the good qualities which that kind of person has. (自) 認為是
例：She fancies herself a bohemian.
她自命為一個放蕩不羈的藝術家。
原來fancy oneself +n/adj 就是自認為自己怎么樣，或者自認為自己是什么人。

1.If you fancy something, you want to have it or to do it. 想要
例：I just fancied a drink.

2.If you fancy someone, you feel attracted to them, especially in a sexual way. 愛慕
3. You say "fancy" or "fancy that" when you want to express surprise or disapproval. (表示驚訝或反對) 真沒想到情感
例："Fancy that!" smiled Conti.

4.If you take a fancy to someone or something, you start liking them, usually for no understandable
reason. (通常指沒有道理的) 愛上
例：Sylvia took quite a fancy to him.
