基礎口譯考試第二階段的命題發言（Free Talk）對很多昂立的學生來說來并不難，因為口語口譯課上老師常常針對這部分進行實戰演練，但是要獲得高分還是需要大家在考前下一番功夫。在這里給考生講講命題發言的應試技巧及話題預測，希望對大家有所幫助。
　
　　Be well prepared.
　　準備考試當然得從往年的試題入手，咱們先來看看一道真題：What Can We Do to Improve the Transportation in Shanghai?

　　上海作為一個超級城市，人口眾多，交通壓力十分大。而且交通又和大家的日常生活息息相關。因此，考到這樣的題目，也在預料范圍之內。在新東方的基礎口譯口語課堂上，所用教材有一單元專門講transportation，在課堂上我曾讓學生就“public transportation and private transportation”進行優劣勢對比，所以考生們肯定都有話可說。

　　相比之下09年的題目My School Life范圍比較廣，但是也出自教材，只要找到合適的切入點并舉充分的事例來證明自己的論點就可以了。比如可以講一interesting courses，extracurricular activities。

　　　做好充分準備是成功的基本保障，考生需對某些話題進行有針對性的口語練習。下面是幾道模擬題及參考答案：

　　My Hobby

　　Sample answer：My hobby is reading. I'm kind of indoor type, so most often I read. I'm interested in reading all kinds of books and newspaper or magazine articles, especially those on current issues. I just want to keep myself informed of what's going on in the world so I can communicate with my classmates on those issues. Now I spend most of my spare time reading on the Internet by browsing the screen. I also read novels, especially novels about school life. It’s just great to read a fascinating book and sip some tea at the same time.

　　Describe one of the most important inventions in the last 100 years.

　　Sample answer： Some people might think computer is one of the most important inventions in the last century. But I'd say television. Since the invention of TV, human history has started a new page. First, TV allows people to learn about what's going on in the world. With such information, they are able to get a better understanding of the world they live in. What's more, TV provides a lot of interesting programs that many people enjoy after a long day's work. Its visual effect makes people feel less stressed and more relaxed. Most important of all, Television has a great influence on the way people think and talk.

　　Describe an enjoyable event in your childhood.

　　Sample answer： An enjoyable event that took place in my childhood was when I first got my first dog--- Lulu. I was ten and had been pestering my parents for a dog for years. One day I came home from school, my parents said they had a surprise for me and it was waiting for me in my room. I ran up to my room and threw open the door. I found a tiny puppy with a red bow around his neck at the foot of my bed. He was fast asleep. And for the rest of his life, he slept on the exact same spot at the end of my bed every night. That was a great happy event in my childhood.
　　
　　但必須指出，考試中應該靈活運用準備好的材料，而不應背誦照搬。考官對背誦事先準備好的答案很反感，你可以想象他/她聽到同一種答案被很多考生重復使用時的感受。在考官看來，Using a prepared answer is similar to cheating! 所以給考生們一個忠告：Over prepared is often as harmful as under prepared.

　　下面是考試過程中的一些建議：

　　Be calm in mind and active in attitude.

　　心態對于任何事的成功都是至關重要的，語言測試，尤其是一對一的口語測試尤其如此。良好的心態可以使人超水平發揮;糟糕的心態卻可以讓人遭遇滑鐵盧。回答問題時要沉著，冷靜，思路清晰，多用連接詞，如to begin with, further, last but not least，for example，in a word等等。同時表現出主動參與、喜歡交談的態度。首先要保證聽懂問題再回答，不要聽到之言片語就慌忙回答;更不要沒聽懂考官的問題就沉默不語。如果真沒聽懂也不要慌，可以先根據此時的談話背景迅速尋找線索，把自己的猜測大膽講出來，待對方證實后繼續回答。

　　Use your common sense.

　　很多考生分丟得實在冤枉，當被問到一些常識性問題時，往往不能調動大腦中豐富的資源而輕易放棄機會。有些問題被考生放棄并不是因為語言問題，而是他們認為對這個話題沒有idea，不知道該從什么角度切入。例如如果被問到家鄉最有趣的方面是什么時，很多考生吞吞吐吐說不出來，或者干脆說沒什么有趣的。其實這是一個非常簡單的問題，只要有一點常識就不難想到有太多話題可講：自然風光、名勝古跡、地方風俗、歷史、地理、風土人情、節日慶典、飲食習慣、教育制度、天氣情況等等都可以成為談論的話題。任何時候都不要放棄問題。Saying something is better than saying nothing!

　　Use the paper available

　　準考證上可以寫下Outline, 所以可以帶著進去，準備過程中迅速寫下key words，忘記要說什么的時候可以看一眼。在speaking的過程中，避免一時緊張，導致不知道要說什么，頭面一片空白。
