A/D: Nowadays teachers are becoming less influential than before.
Teachers keep playing a predominant role in edifying young people. They not only impart knowledge in different classes but also help students to form proper values towards life. However, due to the advance in technology and the change in pedagogy, I think teachers nowadays exert less influence on student and would rather prefer to serve as organizers.
Technology advances such as the development of the Internet and the prevalence of computers enable students to dig into any subjects on their own. Using Google, we can get the information we want with the click of a mouse. When I was a primary school student, I had to depend on my teachers’ help to solve all my problems in school work. At that time, I did not own a computer and I had no access to the Internet. Therefore, the teachers’ lectures were the only way to get something new. With the rapid development of technology, I am now exposed to various new things. The Internet enables me to acquire knowledge on my own. Whenever I have to do some research, I will directly use Wikipedia or hunt the information in University’s online library. With a few lines of key words, I can get as much information as I want through the Internet.
Also, changes in pedagogy and people’s opinions about teaching left instructors in a less dominant position than they used to be in the past. We now encourage our students to learn more actively and independently. Teachers serve more as organizers who lead them to discovery the unknown world rather than as feeders of knowledge.你可以在此處增加范例嗎？
