If teenagers watch too much TV, they will be negatively influenced. 此處的too much可換為frequent/excessive/prolonged來表達類似的語境義。 Frequent exposure to TV can exert negative influence on teenagers. Would you feel happy when given an additional 10% pay raise? Would you feel excited when earning generous prizes in competing in a TV show? Would you feel ecstatic when getting 1,000 dollar by winning the lottery? Readers of the magazine said they wanted more stories about ordinary people and less stories about the rich and famous. 2 poor penniless, needy, low, broke, destitute, dirt poor, down-and-out, beggar, beggarly, bad off, bankrupt, behind eight ball, empty-handed, flat broke, flat, fortuneless, hard up, impecunious, impoverished, in need, in want, moneyless, necessitous, pauperize, indigent, insolvent, meager, penurious, pinched, povertystricken, reduced, scantly, stone broke, strapped, suffering, truly needy, underprivileged, unprosperous 例句:Her family was so poor they couldn't afford her better education. 3 receive accept, acquire, admit, assume, be given, be informed, collect, come by, come into, be told, earn, gain, gather, get, get from, hear, hold, make, obtain, catch, be in receipt of, draw, get hands on, get hold of, grab, inherit, latch on to, pick up, pocket, take, take in, win, perceive, apprehend, appropriate, arrogate, cop, corral, derive, procure, pull, pull down, reap, redeem, secure, seize, snag, take possession 例句:My suggestion was received with disdain. 4 rudimentary beginning, early, elemental, simple, simplest, elementary, embryonic, immature, initial, introductory, primary, underdeveloped, primitive, abecedarian, basal, uncompleted, larval, nuts-and-bolts, vestigial 例句:Gradually, I acquired a rudimentary knowledge of music. 5roam walk, travel, stray, bum around, bum, ramble, range, drift, hike, hit the road, knock around, meander, prowl, gad, gallivant, struggle along, rove, saunter, straggle, stroll, peregrinate, traipse, tramp, traverse, trek, vagabond 例句:He used to roam the streets for hours on end. 6 target purpose, spot, ambition, duty, end, function, intention, mark, point, ground zero, bull’s-eye, destination, object, objective 例句:The government may fail to meet its target of recycling 25% of domestic waste. 7 violent agitated, aroused, crazy, cruel, desperate, disturbed, enraged, fierce, fierce, forceful, forcible, brutal, funous, great, passionate, powerful, rough, uncontrollable, strong, wild, berserk, bloodthirsty, coercive, demoniac, distraught, frantic, fuming, headstrong, homicidal, hotheaded, hysterical, impassioned, impetuous, imflamed, intemperate, mad, maddened, maniacal, mighty, murderous, potent, raging, riotous, savage, ungovernable, unrestrained, urgent, vehement, vicious 例句:Gandhi was an exponent of non-violent protest. 8 unsuspected dark, imaginary, not in sight, undetected, undiscovered, unnoticed, unobserved, concealed, curtained, imagined, invisible, lurking, obscure, occult, out of sight, impalpable, impenetrable, imperceptible, inconspicuous, shrouded, unobtrusive, unperceived, veiled 例句:He has an unsuspected talent for art. 9 ask abjure, advocate, apply to, call to ,desire, demand, requisition, require, worry, beseech, besiege, canvass, conjure, crave, entreat, urge, impetrate, implore, importune, invoke, nag, petition, plead, pray, press, solicit, sue, supplicate, woo 例句:You have to ask permission to leave. 10 hazard double trouble, threat, risk, risky business, endangerment, thin ice, hot potato, dynamite, imperilment, jeopardy, peril 例句:Rock-climbers are hazarding their lives.
