六級考試的深度閱讀與四級相比,詞匯量更大,句式更復雜,故對考生的綜合理解能力提出了更高的要求。題目側重考察考生對文章的整體把握能力,直接從文章中找到答案的題目趨于減少。基于這種命題趨勢,對備戰2010年6月份的六級考生來說,以下幾個實用技巧可以幫助你迅速提高至少20分。
(1) 對文章信息的“重新包裝”(paraphrase)
大部分干擾選項的特點是以偏概全,借題發揮,實則與文章本意出入較大。正確答案多為原文的“重新包裝”,是對原文的闡釋(paraphrase)。故考生可以牢記“照抄原文的不是答案,paraphrase的是正解”。
(2) 找準句子主干
長難句多為出題的焦點。主干以外的修飾成分往往讓考生如墜五里云霧,無法識別句子真正的的S.V.O.。這時需要讀懂句子,分清主要成份,正確作答。如How does global warming affect the survival of turtles?
A. It threatens the sandy beaches on which they lay eggs.
B. The changing climate makes it difficult for their eggs to hatch.
C. The rising sea levels make it harder for their hatchlings to grow.

黑體標注部分為句子主干。主語 the beach + 謂語 are + squeezed (原本并不寬敞的沙灘變得更為擁擠)。其中 on which… 為定語從句修飾beach,而on one side 和on the other 為并列介詞短語表原因。所以縱觀四個選項,A選項抓住了句子的主干意思。其他選項只是針對修飾成分所做的干擾。
(3) 插入語等修飾成分跳過不看
那么如何快速理解一個長句子而抓住主干成分呢?其他修飾性的枝葉部分,尤其很多用逗號隔開的插入語統統略去不看。如:
But economists say families about to go into debt to fund four years of partying, as well as studying, can console themselves with the knowledge that college is an investment that, unlike many bank stocks, should yield huge dividends. (09年6月)
這個句子的主干為families console themselves for college should yield huge dividends. “about” 修飾families,略去不讀;插入語“as well as studying”可以略去;第一個that 同位語從句解釋原因,第二個that 定語從句修飾college。所以這道題目答案為College education is rewarding in spite of the startling costs.
